The Global Health Expo of Boao Forum for Asia opened on June 10 in the eastern coastal city of Qingdao, Shandong province, displaying the latest achievements and cutting-edge technologies related to the health industry.

More than 400 distinguished guests attended the opening ceremony, including government officials, representatives from the World Health Organization, exhibitors, and media reporters.

Li Baodong, secretary general of the Boao Forum for Asia, Sun Jiye, deputy governor of Shandong province, and Jenny Shipley, former prime minister of New Zealand, gave addresses at the opening ceremony.

Margaret Chan Fung Fu-chun, president of the Global Health Forum of the Boao Forum for Asia, and Qingdao Mayor Meng Fanli were present at the opening ceremony, which was presided over by Qingdao Vice-Mayor Xue Guoqing.

Jointly organized by the Boao Forum for Asia, Shandong provincial government, Qingdao municipal government, and the organizing committee of the Global Health Forum of Boao Forum for Asia, the expo not only epitomizes the "Healthy China" strategy, but also provides a projection of the global health industry. 

Covering an exhibition area of 20,000 square meters, the expo gathers more than 200 domestic and foreign enterprises and organizations, showcasing the latest concepts, technologies, and achievements in health-related industries such as the Internet of medicine, 5G telemedicine, medical facilities, health management, and public service.

Tencent, Iflytek, PKU Healthcare, Hongci Healthcare, iKang Guobin Healthcare, Angecon Biotechnology, and other well-known enterprises in the industry are demonstrating advanced medical technology and service modes at the expo.

Wuhan National Bioindustry Base, also known as Biolake, is displaying the concept and development mode of digital medical health.

The healthcare industry plays a vital role in Shandong's transformation from old economic drivers to new ones. A Shandong exhibition area has been set up at the expo, which gathers about 100 of the province's enterprises and organizations, including Wego Group, Qilu Pharmaceutical, Shandong Hongjitang Pharmaceutical Group, and Shandong Shinva Group.

The Global Health Forum of the Boao Forum for Asia, which runs until June 12, consists of a series of activities including a plenary, four roadshows and28 sub-forums focusing on three themes: "Universal Health Coverage," "Innovation for Health," and "Health in All Policies."
