Lithuania taps trade opportunities in Jinan

Print PrintA promotional event entitled "Welcome to Lithuania" was held in Jinan, capital city of East China's Shandong province, on May 31.
Jointly hosted by the Embassy of Lithuania in China and the Jinan municipal government, the event is set to enhance mutual understanding and trade cooperation between Lithuania and Jinan.
More than 100 government officials and representatives of companies from Lithuania and Jinan took part in the event including Sun Shutao, mayor of Jinan city, Marius Skuodis, deputy minister of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of Lithuania and Lithuanian Ambassador to China, Ina Marciulionyte.
Sun delivered a keynote speech and detailed Jinan's livable environment, robust industries and burgeoning potential for foreigners.
Ina Marciulionyte also introduced at the conference that mutual trade potentials in the fields of transportation, agriculture and tourism industries.
Lithuania, which is involved in the Belt and Road Initiative, is also one of the key countries in the "17+1" China-CEEC cooperation platform, that is, the cooperation between China and 17 Central and Eastern European countries. In recent years, Jinan has been seeing increasingly friendly relations with cities in Lithuania.
The promotional event will also provide strong impetus for the city's development and its shift toward new growth drivers; it will also offer strong support for the city's further integration into the Belt and Road Initiative and accelerate its urban internationalization.
