Yantai in East China's Shandong province hosted a forum focusing on healthcare cooperation on May 30, welcoming 58 South Korean companies and 58 Yantai companies.

Zhang Dailing, deputy mayor of Yantai, made a keynote speech and extended a warm welcome to the South Korean companies. He expressed hope that South Korean companies will learn more about Yantai’s business environment and choose to invest in the city.

Bao Xinyong, director of the city's health commission, detailed Yantai's medical treatment and health development in recent years.

The city has built a medical expert think tank and health industry alliance to help promote the sector’s development. There are 25 medical and health industrial parks currently under construction or planned in the city.

The government has offered financial rewards to enterprises engaging in innovative development and has promoted the establishment of biomedical research and development service platforms.

In 2018, the main business income of the city's healthcare industry exceeded 83 billion yuan ($12.3 billion) and is expected to exceed 100 billion yuan by 2020.

Representatives of the South Korean Cosmetic and Plastic Surgery Industry Association, Zhaoyuan Biomedical Industrial Park and Longquan Health Town in Mouping district also introduced their industry development at the forum in search of further cooperation.
