A base aiming to strengthen national information security and develop intelligent manufacturing industries began being implemented in Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province on March 31.
The intelligent manufacturing development base, which comes as part of Yantai's efforts to further accelerate industrial development and boost emerging industries, was funded by China Electronics Corporation Group with an investment of two billion ($298.5 million) yuan and will be implemented by the Sixth Research Institute of China Electronics Technology Corporation Group.
As China's largest state-owned comprehensive electronic information group, China Electronics Corporation Group has been listed in the world top 500 for eight consecutive years and owns 20 subsidiaries. It remains committed to building a national team in the field of network security and information.
The base focuses on developing intelligent manufacturing, environmental monitoring and information security protection and will carry out in-depth research on new-generation information technology and promote related applications to the market.
It aims to achieve an industrial output of 5 billion yuan and attract more than 1,000 high-end talents.
The base is expected to become a first-class electronic information development base and will serve as an example in how to develop strategic emerging industries in Shandong province.
