Jinan, capital of Shandong province, played host to the Shandong Industrial Internet Summit on Feb 27. Experts and business elites gathered to make in-depth discussions on industrial internet issues. 

The summit, a key forum of the 14th China (Shandong) International Equipment Manufacturing Industry Exposition, was themed on “build intelligent enterprise brains based on the industrial internet”. 

On the day, representatives from well-known enterprises, such as SAP, SINA Corporation and Huawei Technologies Co Ltd, and service providers of the industrial internet attended the summit and shared their core technologies, latest products, cases of successful application of industrial internet, and efficient solutions. Experts also presented thematic reports.

Feng Wei from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of PRC gave a talk on the latest national policies on the industrial internet. Feng explained that the field was an integration of industry and internet systems and emphasized that it would play a key role in industrial development.  

Li Yonghua from the Department of Industry and Technology of Shandong Province said that the province had made great efforts to promote the integration of industrialization and information and had achieved fruitful results which provided a backbone for the development of relevant industries.

The province plans to implement projects setting up at least one comprehensive service platform of the industrial internet, at least ten “double cross” platforms and at least 100 specific platforms.
