The 14th China International Equipment Manufacturing Exposition (IEME) was held at the Jinan International Convention Center from Feb 26 to 28. 

Jointly hosted by the Shandong Provincial Government and the China Machinery Industry Federation, the exhibition set up seven themed sub-areas including industrial robots, agricultural machinery, numerically-controlled machine tools and welding and cutting equipment.

A total of 687 renowned brand companies from across the world such as Suketame, Panasonic, Autonic and Priscian displayed 5,000 sets of equipment. 

Around 30 robot products of 22 Jinan companies in the Jinan Robot Industry Association made their debut and won a series of awards. 

Recently, Jinan has attached great importance to the development of the intelligent manufacturing industry featuring robot products. 

The government also rolled out policies such as a five-year plan for intelligent manufacturing development and guidance for the robot industry in Jinan. It also provided support for local companies to make innovation and deepen cooperation in development of the robot sector. 

In 2018, the output value of robot companies in the city reached nearly 10 billion yuan. At present, the city is home to 60 intelligent robot and parts companies. 

It has developed China's first industrial snatch robots, welding robots, fire-fighting robots and industrial assembly robots, which are exported to more than 30 provinces and cities and to 130 countries and regions.
