Weihai artists celebrate Chinese New Year in South Korea

With festive and distinctive Chinese music, dances and Peking Opera performances, artists from Shandong's Weihai Mass Art Center brought their delightful New Year wishes to the people of South Korea at the country's 2019 Happy Chinese New Year celebration series.

The Weihai artists staged two special performances at the Weihai Pavilion in Inchon and the China Cultural Center in Seoul on Jan 16 and 17 respectively.

South Korea's third-largest city, Incheon, an expanding metropolis and industrial port, is a Friendship City of Weihai, Shandong province.

Hundreds of attendees, including government officials, commercial representatives, Chinese students and media members attended and watched the performances.

Jointly organized by the China Cultural Center in Seoul and the Weihai municipal bureau of culture and tourism, the special performances by Weihai artists were part of the Chinese New Year celebration series held in South Korea from Jan 10 to March 8.
