The revised English website of the Jinan Municipal Government (http://english.jinan.gov.cn/) was put into trial operation on Dec 15. It tells people from across China and abroad the splendid stories of Jinan's development and shows the charms of an open "spring city".

The website was jointly planned and implemented by China Daily, the Foreign Affairs Office of Jinan Municipal Government and the Information Center of the Jinan Municipal Government. It adopts the globally-popular split-screen design style with simple and clean pages.

Oriented to the needs of overseas audiences, the website consists of eight first-level columns -- About, Government, Media Center, Investment, International Exchange, Travel & Culture, Specials, and Service -- and 25 second-level columns, integrating the functions of information, investment, foreign exchange, and life services. 

It aims to build a foreign language website of the Jinan Municipal Government that conforms to international standards and highlights the characteristics of the "spring city".

In order to deepen overseas audiences' understanding of Jinan's local cultural and economic activities and unique customs, China Daily will specially plan and produce a number of featured topics, charts and short videos for the website. It will also promote the website through its global advertising platform.
