Shandong, Hong Kong top officials meet

The Shandong Week is an annual campaign to promote Shandong's business sectors and attract investment from Hong Kong.
Carrie Lam welcomed the Shandong delegation to the annual Shandong Week event in Hong Kong and wished the event a great success.
She said that Hong Kong and Shandong enjoy friendly and close relations with frequent top-level exchanges and productive cooperation in various areas.
Hong Kong has been the first choice for Shandong-based enterprises seeking overseas financing or going public.
Carrie Lam welcomes more Shandong enterprise to utilize Hong Kong's robust finance services industry and sound capital base, and take Hong Kong as a platform to introduce foreign capital and promote Shandong enterprises to the globe, in a bid to jointly grasp the opportunities generated by the Belt and Road Initiative and explore the international market.
Carrie Lam said that Shandong has been developing high-tech industries and fostering a favorable environment for innovation and entrepreneurship, while Hong Kong is also becoming an international innovation and technology center with the support of the central government. The two sides enjoy a broad prospect for exchanges and cooperation in related areas.
She also expressed sincere gratitude to the Shandong government for the strong support and assistance given to the SAR by the Shandong liaison office. She hoped that Shandong will continue to implement measures to facilitate the living and working of Hong Kong people, especially youth, in the Chinese mainland.
Liu said that Hong Kong has a special status and unique advantages in the nation's reform and opening-up process and plays an irreplaceable role.
Over the years, the support of Hong Kong compatriots has been crucial to Shandong's development, Liu said, as a large number of Hong Kong entrepreneurs have invested in Shandong and promoted the province's social and economic advancement.
Liu added that with the implementation of the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, bilateral economic and trade cooperation between Shandong and Hong Kong enjoys huge potential and broad prospects.
Liu said that Shandong will create a better environment for bilateral cooperation in various fields.
In order to deepen bilateral friendly exchanges and cooperation in various areas, Liu welcomes more Hong Kong enterprises to invest in Shandong and more young people to study there.
