Confucius Museum to open in Qufu in late Nov

The Confucius Museum in Qufu city, Shandong province, is expected to open its doors to the public in late November, according to its constructor.  

The museum in memory of Confucius, the great Chinese educator and philosopher, will cover about 20 hectares of planning area with a total floor area of 57,000 square meters. It will become a high-tech museum for the public to experience Confucian culture.

The museum is designed in the shape of the Charles's Wain constellation. Its main exhibition hall will show collections of Confucius and famous people from the Confucian era. 

The museum will exhibit more than 12,000 pieces of cultural relics and over 20 pieces of archives from Kong family. The public will be able to get to know about Confucius's life, historical contribution and influence when visiting the museum.

According to Liu Shengming, general manager of Qufu Green City Yansheng Culture Development Co, the constructor of the museum, the overall project is about 70 percent completed, while the landscape and interior decoration is 95 and 90 percent completed respectively.

At present, a total of 442 people are working on the construction of the museum to ensure it opens on time.
