The Yantai government sought development for the city's modern service industry with a cooperation conference on modern services held in Jinan, capital of Shandong province on Sept 27.

Over 60 guests attended the conference, including executives and entrepreneurs of established companies in the sector from home and abroad.

The conference was fruitful, as six key projects worth nearly 7 billion yuan ($1billion) were signed between Yantai and several companies in the city's key service sectors such as modern finance, business service and information & communications.

A road show of a few key service projects was conducted at the conference, followed by a matchmaking discussion between entrepreneurs present, some of whom extended a good will to cooperate with service-focused companies in Yantai.

Discussions about business cooperation in other fields such as culture & tourism, biomedicine and elderly care also saw progress at the conference.
