Village soars on erhu making

Print PrintYuequan village in Linyi's Miaoshan town is renowned for its erhu (traditional Chinese two-string musical instrument) making industry. About 96 of the village's 120 households are engaged in the traditional Chinese instrument making business, selling nearly 80,000 instruments every year across the country, with annual sales amounting to 300 million yuan ($43.7 million).
The local government plans to raise 80 million yuan to build the erhu industrial park and develop tourism featuring erhu culture to promote regional development as well as improve people's well-being in the rural area.
