S Korea highlights Qingzhou farmers' paintings

The Qingzhou peasant paintings are on display at the China Cultural Center in Seoul, South Korea from Sept 5 to 13, according to the exhibition's opening ceremony held in the South Korean city.
More than 100 representatives from media and cultural circles in China and South Korea attended the event.
The exhibition showcased 55 Qingzhou peasant paintings, depicting the Chinese city's profound culture, unique customs, folk legends, and beautiful scenery.
Qingzhou, located in the middle of Shandong Peninsula, is a renowned historical and cultural city and also a renowned hometown of Chinese calligraphy and painting.
Qingzhou peasant painting boasts a long history, which reproduces Qingzhou farmers' colorful rural life and busy farming season.
Seoul is yet another important stop for Qingzhou peasant paintings exhibition following the one in Los Angeles in 2016 and that in Paris in 2015.
Co-sponsored by Shandong provincial culture department, the China Cultural Center in Seoul and South Korean Folk Painting Association and organized by the Qingzhou Peasant Painting Association, the exhibition is expected to promote the two countries' cultural exchanges, further cooperation among their non-governmental cultural institutions and art troupes, as well as advance their friendly relations.
