The Qingdao International Optimist Training Camp and Sailing Competition came to an end at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center on Aug 15.

The event, which is a part of the Tenth Qingdao International Sailing Week, attracted more than 240 teenagers from 10 countries and regions such as Germany, Poland, Australia, South Africa, and China.

Teenagers from the Sichuan team swept the top three places in the men's gold group and the top two places in the women’s gold group. The Thailand team won the third place in the women’s gold group.

Qingdao has staged the international Optimist Training Camp since 2010, which aims to promote sailing sports exchanges among teenagers across the world.

At the awarding ceremony, teams from across the world prepared various performances to showcase their culture, including Polish dancing, guitar playing from Africa, and folk dancing from Taiwan's Gaoshan people.
