5. Kunlun Mountain Scenic Area

Kunlun Mountain Scenic Area, also known as Kunshan Mountain Scenic Area, is situated at the western shore of Dongping Lake. The ruins of a village on the mountaintop are identified as those of the Water Margin village where the heroes Three Ruan Brothers lived.  

Apart from the ruins of a village, there are also other famous scenic spots in the area, including Yueyan Temple built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644) and the Mapao Spring.

6. Baifo Mountain

Baifo Mountain is famous for the 134 ancient grotto sculptures, among which the 6.7-meter-high Buddha started to be built in the Sui Dynasty (581-618). It is a national 4A-level scenic spot and also rated as a State-level cultural relic preservation site.

Many Water Margin heroes have such an affinity with Buddhism that they chose to be a Buddhist monk.
