Shandong's Rizhao port’s third 300,000-ton crude oil terminal began operations on May 15, a step forward in the implementation of Shandong province’s marine strategy.

With the opening of this crude oil terminal, Rizhao port ranks among the top three terminals and is the top port of Sinopec Group in terms of crude oil unloading capacity.

The whole construction of the third crude oil terminal only took 22 months, while the first one broke ground in 2005 and took five years to complete. Rizhao port’s construction speed for crude oil terminals is fully accelerated, which will advance the development of the port’s overall oil industry.

The fourth 300,000-ton crude oil terminal in Rizhao port has been approved by the Shandong Development and Reform Commission. Seven million three hundred thousand cubic meters of oil storage tanks that can accommodate more than 60 million tons of oil products have been built in the port area. Five oil pipelines are under construction, two of which have already begun operations. When all of the facilities are completed, the annual capacity of Rizhao port will be more than 100 million tons.
