A promotional cultural tourism event for Tai'an, East China's Shandong province, was held in Mont Saint-Michel, France on March 13, local time, with nearly 50 guests witnessing this significant cultural exchange event between China and France.

A video promoting Tai'an's cultural tourism attractions was played during the event, introducing Tai'an and Mount Tai to French people. A live performance of Mei Hua Quan, a type of kung fu, was also staged.

More than 40 cultural items, including Tai'an's handicrafts and intangible cultural heritage items such as Mount Tai shadow puppets, Mount Tai jade, Mount Tai tea, paper-cutting, and dough figurines, were displayed, showcasing Tai'an's uniqueness.

In addition, a photography exhibition during the event showcased nearly 30 urban, scenic, and cultural photographs of Tai'an.

Feng Nengbin, vice-mayor of Tai'an, said that this promotional event is the first of its kind held by Tai'an in a European city. Tai'an expects to strengthen exchanges and cooperation related to tourism, economy, and trade with Mont Saint-Michel.

This year marks the 60th anniversary of both the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France and the China-France Cultural and Tourism Year. With the implementation of the 15-day visa-free entry policy for Chinese tourists to France, a new chapter of cultural and tourism exchanges between the two countries has begun, Feng added.
