Expat online content creators from Italy, France, Russia, the US and Sri Lanka tried their hand at wine blending on July 3 at Mystic Island Winery in Penglai district, Yantai.

Wine blending is the process of combining different base wines – often from different grape varieties, regions, vintages or barrels – to create a final wine with balanced taste, aroma and structure. 

It's considered to be a crucial part of winemaking – allowing  winemakers to enhance flavors, aromas and overall quality by strategically using different wines.

At Mystic Island Winery, participants were introduced to three base wines, each made from a different grape variety and offering its own distinct flavor. By mixing them in different proportions, they discovered how subtle changes can create entirely new flavor profiles.
