Since the beginning of summer, the harvesting, drying, and processing of seaweed across 66,000 mu (4,400 hectares) on Changdao archipelago in Yantai, East China's Shandong province, has gotten underway, filling each island with the unique freshness of marine algae.

Aquaculture workers rise at around 3 am and head out to sea for the seaweed harvest. The golden sunlight juxtaposed with mounds of seaweed creates a vibrant scene, painting a bountiful ocean harvest.

This year's seaweed production is expected to exceed 60,000 metric tons, with harvesting and processing operations set to conclude by the end of August.
