The 34th Laizhou Chinese Rose Festival commenced in Laizhou, a county-level city in Yantai, Shandong province, on May 15, offering a vibrant celebration across trade, culture, and tourism.

Laizhou, dubbed the "Hometown of Chinese Roses", has been cultivating roses for over 600 years. With over 360 rose varieties and an annual production exceeding 16 million plants, Laizhou's Chinese roses are popular nationwide and are exported to various countries and regions including Europe, the United States, Japan, and South Korea.

In 2012, Laizhou joined the World Federation of Rose Societies, signifying international recognition of its rose culture. 

This year's festival not only presents a floral spectacle but also showcases Laizhou's urban renewal, featuring unique flower streets that seamlessly integrate roses into the cityscape, attracting loads of tourists every year and bolstering the city's reputation.
