Updated : 2023-04-06
Spring is the best time to admire cherry blossoms and Muping district in Yantai, Shandong province launched a cherry blossom night carnival on April 3, allowing people to admire blossoms in the evening.
The carnival features a variety of colorful online and offline activities, including a photo exhibition, a hanfu show, a kite festival, camping activities, as well as a voting activity for Yantai's internet-famous attractions.
As a well-known cherry blossom site in Yantai, Muping's Cherry Blossom Avenue has become a hive of activity as it turns into one of the city's best spots to see cherry blossoms.
Different from previous cherry blossom festivals, this year's cherry blossom carnival is offering visitors amazing experiences where they can admire the charming cherry blossoms under the moonlight at night, when colorful glowing lights light up the blossoms.
The month-long activity is Yantai’s latest successful foray in integrating local coastal tourism resources and cultural elements. It is also a new way to energize the city's nighttime economy, which is expected to unleash the potential of tourism in driving the local economy, while also promoting the recovery of the local tourism sector from the three-year COVID-19 pandemic.
