The traditional Chinese solar calendar divides each year into 24 solar terms. The Spring Equinox, or Chunfen, is the fourth term of the year, and starts on March 21 and ends on April 4 this year.

The Spring Equinox signals the equal amount of day time and night time. On the day of the Spring Equinox, the sun is directly above the equator. After the equinox, the sun moves northwards, resulting in gradually longer days in the Northern Hemisphere and longer nights in the Southern Hemisphere.

With the arrival of the Spring Equinox, Yantai in East China's Shandong province is turning into a colorful wonderland. Check out the video to enjoy the breathtaking beauty of the city!
