The Yantai Area of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone in the coastal city of Yantai in East China's Shandong province has made remarkable achievements since its establishment in 2019.

Yantai Area has increased its efforts to support innovation-driven development over the last three years and implemented reforms with courage and initiative. As a result, a number of noteworthy institutional accomplishments that can be replicated and advanced have been made.

According to official data, more than 200 innovative institutional achievements have been implemented since its establishment, with one being honored as the country's "best practice" case, and 19 were promoted and replicated nationwide.

The Yantai government plans to give more support to the high-quality development of the area, encourage it to conduct bold trials and experiments, and implement a new round of pilot reforms to advance high-level opening-up of the China (Shandong) Pilot Free Trade Zone, according to a report created by the city's top officials at the 14th Yantai Municipal Congress of the Communist Party of China.

The Yantai Area, a key place for Shandong's innovation-driven development, has continuously broken the bottleneck through reform and innovation over the past three years, carried out in-depth reform, created a number of new experiences and new systems in areas like the marine economy, and deepened cooperation with Japan and South Korea.
