According to official data released by the city's science and technology bureau on July 19, Yantai, a coastal city in East China's Shandong province, is now home to 17 science and technology enterprise incubators above the provincial level, and 41 high-tech enterprises have been cultivated, accounting for 20.5 percent of the province's overall number, which puts the city in first place in Shandong.

Yantai has a total of 20 incubation carriers at or above the municipal level, which has helped the city cultivate 48 high-tech enterprises.

In recent years, the city has beefed up efforts to implement its innovation-driven development strategy, and attached great importance to the construction of incubation carriers for the technology industry. Efforts have also been made to foster an ecosystem for innovation and entrepreneurship, which have in turn promoted the high-quality development of the city.

The city has built 54 incubators that cover a total area of more than 800,000 square meters and have accelerated the city's pace in replacing old drivers of growth with new ones. In 2021, a total of 656 national science and technology small and medium enterprises had been cultivated.

The city's science and technology bureau will further improve the incubation system for technological innovation and entrepreneurship in a bid to create a more competitive and innovative entrepreneurial ecosystem, and accelerate Yantai's high-quality development.
