From 2017 to 2021, efforts have also been made to support the establishment of new business modes. The city now has 55 publicly traded enterprises, and the city's total domestic market value ranks first.
Shandong will increase the speed of innovation in marine science and technology to develop Shandong into a powerful maritime province, according to the goals set forth in the report of the 12th Shandong Provincial Congress of the Communist Party of China, which began on May 28 in Jinan.
The city of Yantai has announced that it will launch four major projects to develop the marine economy this year, including integrated city, port, and industry development, a marine environmental protection campaign, and improving public service capabilities in marine science and technology innovation.
Efforts will also be made to encourage the transition to green and low-carbon development, with the goal of becoming the world's leading smart and low-carbon city, as well as a national leader in clean energy projects.
