In 2024, Weifang achieved remarkable economic growth, with its GDP surpassing 820.32 billion yuan ($113.2 billion), solidifying its position as the fourth-largest economy in Shandong province.

A key contributor to Weifang's success was its thriving agricultural sector, which generated a total of 135.87 billion yuan in output. The sector grew by 4.4 percent, ranking second in the province in terms of growth and further cementing Weifang's agricultural leadership.

Meanwhile, the city's industrial economy saw impressive growth, with industrial output from enterprises above designated size increasing by 8.5 percent, outpacing the provincial growth rate by 0.2 percentage points.
