Tourism flourishes in Tai'an during May Day holiday

During this year's May Day holiday from May 1 to 5, Tai'an city in Shandong welcomed more than 1.64 million visitors across 21 tourist attractions monitored by the city's travel authority, representing an 8.9 percent year-on-year increase. The city achieved 61.39 million yuan ($8.5 million) in revenue, a 0.63 percent increase compared to the previous year, with ticket sales generating nearly 41 million yuan, a 1.02 percent increase.

One visitor, Zhang Wenjie, and her family from Liaocheng in Shandong, shared their positive experience in Dongping. They praised the scenic beauty, delicious cuisine, and various entertaining activities, choosing to stay overnight at the themed accommodation in the vibrant Dasong Everbright City in Dongping.

During the holiday, Tai'an featured a variety of activities and 19 promotional policies, including cultural performances, creative markets, sports events, carnival celebrations at scenic spots, and fruit-picking festivals. The new ceremony of worship to heaven at Taishan Mountain premiered on May 1, selling 9,941 performance tickets during the holiday, marking a 30 percent increase in sales and a 48 percent surge in net revenue.

Additionally, Tai'an city's agreement with Jining introduced multiple cross-regional tourism routes. The launch of the "Qilu No.1" tourism train, stopping at Tai'an and Ciyao stations, prompted Tai'an to offer discounted packages, injecting strong momentum into the city's tourism industry.
