A Chinese-style wedding full of Chinese aesthetics and cultural charm took place in Shandong's Tai'an on April 19. Bride Xu Jiafen from China and groom Sylvain Gaspar from Portugal stood at the foot of Taishan Mountain and exchanged vows of love in traditional Ming-style wedding attire.

To allow the foreign relatives and friends of the couple to experience the charm of Chinese traditional culture, the wedding also featured a traditional folk market imbued with heritage and cultural significance.

The market, predominantly adorned in red tones, exuded an elegant and solemn atmosphere, with stalls lined up in an orderly manner, crowds bustling, creating an extraordinary lively scene. Skilled sugar painting artists swiftly created vivid sugar paintings, and booths with lacquer fans, traditional rubbings, sachets, and other intangible cultural heritage items were surrounded by curious attendees.

Over thirty Portuguese guests in modern Chinese-style attire went from stall to stall. They would stop to try their hand at crafting traditional handicrafts or in activities like a game of pot throwing.

This heritage folk market not only allowed foreign guests to immerse themselves in the charm of Chinese traditional culture but also added a unique romantic touch to this cross-border wedding.
