Ecological restoration boosts high-quality development of Tai'an
By nurturing a rich ecological foundation, Wenhe New District in Tai'an is actively contributing to the key strategies of the Yellow River.
"Everywhere you look is a picturesque view," said a visitor from Liaoning, "Arriving at the vast water landscape of Wenhe New District, the azure sky, fresh air, and expansive water surface make it hard to leave."
The breathtaking scenery is a result of Wenhe New District's efforts to proactively align with the trends of new development and chart a path towards green growth.
In recent years, the district has stepped up efforts in ecological restoration, adding approximately 60,000 square meters of restored area since last year. Ongoing surveys and dynamic monitoring of wetland resources ensure that the Wenhe River's water quality remains high.
With the continued improvement of the ecological environment, an increasing number of rare bird species have been spotted in the area, with the number of wetland bird species increasing from 136 to 209.
"Winter is the peak tourism season, with tourist groups and elderly visitors seeking health recuperation becoming the main consumer groups. Even on weekdays, there are many visitors," said Zhang Peng, a staff member at Culai Mountain.
Thanks to the unique ecological advantages of Culai Mountain and the millennia-old hot spring resources, the hot springs at Culai Mountain have become a popular destination for people looking to relax and unwind away from the hustle and bustle of the city. "We expect to receive over 300,000 visitors this year,” said Zhang.
