New fishing village drives rural vitalization for Tai'an's town

Laohu town in Dongping county, Tai'an, has undergone a remarkable transformation into a thriving fishing village, embracing its prosperity on the journey of rural vitalization.

Renowned and thriving because of the lakes, Laohu town cultivated its advantages, developed fishing, and constructed the fishing-style town project.

The town, which used to be crowded and messy, made big changes thanks to this project. The roads were widened and extended to distance them from sidewalks and smooth traffic out. Meanwhile, the town organized aerial routes and cleaned up messy corners, which made the town in order and cleaner.

Furthermore, Laohu town has constructed a cultural corridor and added nighttime lighting to create a vibrant district with a rich fishing village charm and boost its nighttime economy.

Also, local business operations were regulated, and a series of gourmet competitions focusing on specialty "fish" dishes were organized to increase the town's popularity and raise the locals' incomes.

As for tourism, Laohu town focused on developing the cultural tourism industry in recent years. It established a "fishing culture tourism" brand and developed a "tourism plus consumption" model so as to enhance leisure tourism experiences with its whole industry value chain improved.
