The 5th Shandong Province Rural Self-driving Tour and Shandong Province Bicycle City League Annual Finals kicked off at Dasong Everbright City in Dongping county of Tai'an city on Nov 3. More than 2,000 cyclists and RV drivers from Shandong, Hebei, Jiangsu, Henan, and other parts of the country participated in the event.

Dongping Lake in Tai'an is the only important flood storage area in the Yellow River Basin, and in 2023, it was named a national-level beautiful lake. Dongping Lake boasts picturesque lake and mountain views, a pristine ecological environment, and an 84-kilometer lakeside road that offers stunning views of Dongping Lake on one side and a mountainous landscape on the other. The lakeside of Dongping Lake has become a beautiful tourist attraction and has become a well-known self-driving destination both within and outside the province.

"The scenery is beautiful, the air is fresh, this is truly a rare self-driving destination. I hope to come back with my family for a camping trip next spring," said He Lei, an RV owner from Jinan.

To further meet the needs of self-driving and RV camping enthusiasts, Dongping county has curated the "Joyful Dongping" RV self-driving route. This route allows visitors to appreciate the magnificence of Dongping Lake, the beauty of Baifoshan, the history of the Grand Canal, and the thrill of adventure.
