Kids excited for first writing ceremony in Tai'an
At Yuefeng Primary School in Daiyue district, Shandong's Tai'an, more than 200 students participated in the traditional first writing ceremony and its ancient rituals. It was a beautiful and culturally rich event celebrating the beginning of a new school year.
During the ceremony, students held brushes and followed the teacher in writing the character for person: 人 (ren). This activity also symbolized the school's earnestness for students to become upright and virtuous members of society.
"The first writing ceremony is a continuation of China's excellent traditional culture and a meaningful educational activity. We hope to set a good example for these students, encourage them to study diligently, and plant seeds tradition in their hearts," said parent Hu Qingbin. He added that this ceremony was a learning process for him and left a deep impression.
