Tai'an has been at the forefront of China's textile industry, driving innovation and sustainability. With a strong focus on technology, fashion, and green development, the city has been transforming its traditional textile industry into a high-tech and environmentally-friendly sector.

A key milestone in Tai'an's textile journey was the establishment of the national advanced printing and dyeing technology innovation center in 2020.

As the only national innovation center of its kind in the textile printing and dyeing field, it has developed over 100 types of dyeing auxiliaries divided into six series, enabling fabrics with exceptional properties such as water resistance, flame retardancy, and unidirectional moisture wicking.

These innovative materials have been adopted by leading industry players domestically, with one of its flame-retardant products successfully replacing a major competitor in the European market.

Shandong Daiyin Textile and Garment Group, a local textile giant, has also made significant contributions to the industry. Its in-house research institute has developed a series of composite functional yarns, resulting in new products such as high-strength wear-resistant fabrics, machine-washable wrinkle-free suit fabrics, and highly shape-retention quick-drying super-soft fabrics. These products have found wide applications in military, outdoor, and workwear markets.

Encouraged by the government, many small and medium-sized enterprises in Tai'an have increased their investment in research and development to improve functional fabrics and fiber materials. As a result, a variety of innovative fabrics have been introduced to the market.
