4 Tai'an projects set to receive financial support
Four projects from Tai'an were among the 47 major industrial innovation projects for new and old kinetic energy conversion to receive support in 2024, as recently announced by the Shandong Development and Reform Commission.
The four projects are set to receive 20.5 million yuan ($2.82 million) in funding, accounting for 10.3 percent of the provincial total and ranking fourth in the province. It is the highest amount Tai'an has ever secured in this field.
The four projects focus on modern light industry and textiles, high-end chemicals, modern efficient agriculture, and high-end equipment, respectively.
According to the announced projects, Tai'an is the only city in the province where all supported projects have received an "excellent" rating.
One of the projects, a rare sugar green biomanufacturing key technology innovation and industrialization project being built by Shandong Fukuan Biological Engineering Co's project, has achieved a leading international level in producing high-quality D-allulose on a large scale, using green, efficient, and cost-effective methods. The project is listed as one of six demonstration projects in the province and is set to receive 5.5 million yuan, the most of any project.
Work began on provincial major industrial innovation projects for new and old kinetic energy conversion in 2019, focusing on the "top 10" industries, green and low-carbon fields, and selecting a batch of leading and iconic projects to break through key constraints.
These projects demand high standards in terms of research and development, technology, investment, and feasibility. They have demonstrated significant achievements in nurturing new productivity, encouraging technological innovation, promoting technology transfer, and ensuring project progress.
To date, Tai'an has secured a total of 16 provincial major industrial innovation projects for new and old kinetic energy conversion.
