A delegation consisting of 37 members from various sectors in South Korea, including politics, business and education, visited Tai'an, home to Mount Tai, in East China's Shandong province on May 17 to engage in cultural exchanges.

The delegation visited the International Cultural Big Data (Taishan) Industrial Town, immersing themselves in traditional Chinese culture with the help of cutting-edge technologies such as holographic projections, big data, and artificial intelligence.

They also visited Dai Temple on Mount Tai and were captivated by its unique architectural style, rich cultural significance, and historical value. Climbing Mount Tai was the centerpiece of the delegation's visit. There they also briefly learned some tai chi, a gentle form of exercise with ancient roots.

Organized by the Korea China Association for Cultural Exchange, the delegation visited the province from May 16 to 19 with the aim of fostering cooperation between China and South Korea in culture and economy.

Qu Huan, president of the association, said that when South Korean people think of China, they often associate Mount Tai with nature and Confucius with the humanities.

Visits to the cities of Jinan, Tai'an, Jining, and other places provided the delegation with a glimpse of modern-day China and the new face of Shandong in developing new quality productive forces, she said.

It allowed the members to experience Shandong's spirit of innovation rooted in ancient traditions, facilitating a search for differences within their shared cultural heritage and realizing the original aspirations of promoting mutual understanding and cooperation between Shandong and South Korea, she added.
