Tai'an launches event for China Tourism Day
The Tai'an venue event celebrating China Tourism Day as well as the Dongping leg of the national walk along the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal were held in Dongping county, Tai'an on May 19.
The China Tourism Day event aims to promote the high-quality development of Tai'an's tourism industry, foster green tourism, advocate for civilized travel, and deepen the integration of culture and tourism.
The launch ceremony highlighted Dongping county's cultural tourism and sports tourism routes, and saw the release of a 2024 graduation season Tai'an travel guide. After the ceremony, attendees visited places such as the Dasong Everbright City, a Song Dynasty (960-1279) themed resort, and Daicun Dam, a vital water conservancy project on the Dawen River.
Tai'an is a vibrant modern city with rich historical and cultural heritages, where culture and tourism are key pillar industries.
Ahead of this year's China Tourism Day, which took place on May 19, Tai'an launched 21 cultural tourism activities and 43 tourism benefit measures, allowing more people to experience the city's charm.
In the first quarter of this year, Tai'an received 19.4 million domestic tourists, generating 18 billion yuan ($2.49 billion) in domestic tourism revenue, representing year-on-year increases of 18 percent and 28 percent, respectively.
