Tai'an's GDP reaches 332.39b yuan in 2023

Tai'an's GDP reached 332.39 billion yuan ($46.28 billion) in 2023, an increase of 6.4 percent compared to the previous year.

The added value of Tai'an's primary, secondary and tertiary industries hit 36.18 billion yuan, 134.98 billion yuan, and 161.22 billion yuan, respectively, in 2023, increases of 4.6 percent, 8.3 percent, and 5.3 percent over the previous year.

The total output value of the agriculture, forestry, animal husbandry, and fishery industries in Tai'an reached 71.58 billion yuan, marking a 5.3 percent increase compared to the previous year.

The added value of industries above designated size in Tai'an increased by 11.3 percent compared to the previous year. Twenty-two of 37 major industry categories experienced growth. The added values of the electrical machinery and equipment manufacturing industry, general equipment manufacturing industry, and pharmaceutical manufacturing industry increased by 34.9 percent, 35.1 percent, and 27.5 percent, respectively.

In 2023, the total output value of the construction industry, a key sector in Tai'an, reached 136.46 billion yuan, a 7.2 percent increase compared to the previous year.

Tai'an achieved 128.68 billion yuan in total retail sales of consumer goods in 2023, an increase of 10.8 compared to the previous year.

Meanwhile, fixed asset investment in Tai'an increased by 7.8 percent over the previous year.

In 2023, the total value of Tai'an's exports and imports hit 45.76 billion yuan, an increase of 23.1 percent over the previous year. Its exports were valued at 39.35 billion yuan and its imports at 6.41 billion yuan, soaring 23.7 percent and 19.4 percent compared to the previous year, respectively.

Revenue in the general public budget reached 23.92 billion yuan in 2023, up 7.4 percent from the previous year, while the per capita disposable income of urban and rural residents in Tai'an reached 45,955 yuan and 24,965 yuan, respectively, increases of 5.8 percent and 7.8 percent over the previous year.
