Li's Sugar Painting, an intangible cultural heritage (ICH) item of Ningyang county, Tai'an, is renowned for its exquisite and lifelike depictions.

Li Ranran, a sixth-generation inheritor of the ICH item, has devoted many years to studying the essence of sugar painting. She has innovated the traditional technique of drawing lines with sugar by integrating techniques and methods from traditional Chinese fine arts and created her own unique style of sugar painting – three-dimensional sugar painting, which is now among the eighth batch of county-level ICH items in Ningyang county.
