Tai'an eyes seven areas for 2024
Tai'an will emphasize and bolster efforts in seven key areas of work in 2024, according to the government work report announced at the third session of the 18th People's Congress of Tai'an, which took place on Jan 12.
These seven areas include: accelerating the construction of a modern industrial system with distinctive Tai'an characteristics, creating a new model in the Yellow River strategic pioneer zone, accelerating the development of modern service industries, integrating the culture and tourism industries, promoting comprehensive rural vitalization, deepening overall reform and opening up, and steadily advancing common prosperity.
For example, Tai'an aims to carry out more than 10 major technological breakthrough projects and over 10 important technology transfer projects. The city will increase investment to help enterprises improve their independent innovation capabilities. It aims to be home to over 1,000 high-tech enterprises and over 1,400 technology-oriented small and medium-sized enterprises.
In an effort to create a new model in the Yellow River strategic pioneer zone, Tai'an will bolster efforts to protect and restore ecological systems in key areas such as Mount Tai, Dawen River, and Dongping Lake. Tai'an aims to reduce soil erosion over an area of 75 square kilometers and address abandoned historical mines covering 230 hectares. Additionally, 57 green mines will be established.
Tai'an will continue to develop a modern culture and tourism industry system with core competitiveness. Efforts will be made to promote immersive tourist experiences and comprehensive tourism services and enhance distinctive products such as Mount Tai jade and Feicheng peach wood. In addition, Tai'an will beef up efforts to accelerate the establishment of national-level tourist resorts such as Dongping Lake and Tianping Lake.
Tai'an will also strive to carry out agricultural industrial upgrading, ensure food safety, and improve the rural living environment to achieve rural vitalization.
