Strawberry cultivation, picking boosts rural economy in Tai'an

In Xinglong village, Jiaoyu town, Daiyue district, Tai'an, the strawberry fields are filled with vibrant red strawberries emitting an enticing fruity aroma.
The strawberries reached maturity in November in over 200 greenhouses in the town, with villagers busy tending to their own greenhouses.
Xinglong village has a total cultivated land of 33.33 hectares, involving 120 households with over 300 people. The main industries in the village include the cultivation and picking of specialty fruits such as strawberries and cherries, as well as the cultivation and deep processing of Chinese herbal medicines.
In recent years, Xinglong village has established designated areas for strawberry and cherry cultivation, Chinese herbal medicine cultivation, logistics, and research and education bases, part of efforts to create a demonstration agricultural park.
The village has also developed a "one-stop" rural picking tourism system integrating "picking, sightseeing, touring, and tasting", with strawberry picking as the main attraction. It receives an average of about 10,000 visitors annually.
Through the development of the strawberry industry, Jiaoyu town has not only expanded the channels for increasing incomes and achieving prosperity for local residents, but has also embarked on a path of high-quality industrial transformation and upgrading, injecting new vitality into rural vitalization.
