Tanzanian business delegation visits Tai'an

A business delegation of 102 people from Tanzania visited Tai'an in Shandong province for economic and trade exploration on Aug 20 and 21. A trade matchmaking and product promotion conference was also held.
In the first half of this year, Tai'an had a total import and export value of 20.69 billion yuan ($2.885 billion), a year-on-year growth of 31.9 percent. Among them, exports to Tanzania, which were mainly products like mining protective steel products and geosynthetic materials, increased by 136.1 percent year-on-year, according to Liu Fengmei, vice-mayor of Tai'an.
During the event, Tai'an promoted mining equipment, its engineering machinery industry, and the automobile and auto parts industry. Key companies including Libo Heavy Industries Science and Technology Co, and Shandong Energy Group introduced and promoted their products as well.
To help the Tanzanian business delegation meet their purchasing demands, 47 local companies were invited to attend the business matchmaking conference.
Tai'an's cultural and tourism resources were also promoted during the event.
