Tai'an bolsters efforts to develop cross-border e-commerce industry
A training event for integrating an industrial belt and cross-border e-commerce was held in Tai'an, Shandong province from April 3 to 4 and the municipal bureau of commerce signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Shandong Cross-Border E-Commerce Association during the event.
The event aimed to offer supportive policies, trainings and management skills for companies, and further build a platform for the integrated development of characteristic industries and cross-border e-commerce in Tai'an.
Developing cross-border e-commerce plays a key role in transforming and upgrading of Tai'an's foreign trade industry.
In 2022, the city's total import and export volume amounted to 40.59 billion yuan ($5.9 billion), surging 39.5 percent compared to the previous year, and ranked the second in the province in terms of growth rate. Of that, cross-border e-commerce generated 14.34 billion yuan in import and export volume.
In November 2022, Tai'an was approved for a State-level cross-border e-commerce comprehensive pilot zone.
This year, the Tai'an municipal bureau of commerce plans to continue to develop foreign trade by bolstering efforts like attracting leading e-commerce companies, exploring exporters' potential, and holding trainings.
