About 3,000 byasa confusas were spotted in Mount Tai Scenic Area in Tai'an recently during a biodiversity survey of Mount Tai.
The byasa confusas are mainly found in China, Japan, and South Korea.
The adult butterfly has narrow wings, a long tail, and bright red patterns on the abdomen. As it shows a beautiful and graceful flying posture, it is called as "a flying flower" and "a dancer in nature".
The superpopulation of byasa confusas found in Mount Tai Scenic Area showed the improvement of the ecological environment and the growing biodiversity in the area as the scenic area has been bolstering efforts to carry out biodiversity checks in recent years.
