A high-speed train exhibiting a wide range of cultural and creative products from 16 cities in Shandong departed on its maiden trip on March 16 from Jinan West Railway Station.

The train named "Traveling around Shandong along the century-old Qingdao-Jinan railway" passed through Jinan, Qingdao, Rizhao, Qufu, and is expected to arrive in Jinan as its last stop.

The Qingdao-Jinan railway opened to the public in 1904, along which there are many cultural heritage items for people to enjoy, such as Shandong kuaishu, a traditional Chinese storytelling art that originated in Shandong province more than 200 years ago, and Shandong Qinshu, a traditional narrative music form that emphasizes a conversational style of singing.

Visitors can experience the various cultural products and intangible cultural heritage items from Tai'an in the train's eighth carriage, including the emperors' sacrificial ceremonies, Taishan dough modelling, as well as Feicheng peach wood carving, bringing visitors a visual feast showcasing Tai'an's rich and profound culture.

The high-speed railway traveling around Shandong offers visitors a chance to experience diversified Shandong cultures, such as the Confucian culture in Jining, the Qi culture in Zibo, and the marine culture in Qingdao, said officials from the provincial department of culture and tourism.
