Medicinal fungus lifts incomes in Feicheng
Local farmers in a planting base in Wangzhuang town, Feicheng, Tai'an are busy harvesting clusters of morchella esculenta, an edible medicinal fungus.
"During the busy season, we mainly focus on harvesting and selling fresh morchella esculenta, which has a very high market demand," said a local farmer Fu Maoxia, who is confident about rural vitalization in the area. Fu added that as the temperature continues rise, they will dry the fungus to preserve them.
In order to further increase local growers' incomes, Wangzhuang town is planning to carry out a new planting mode for the fungus in the winter and plant watermelons and other melons in the spring.
