Tai'an, a city located in Shandong province, has been beefing up its efforts to boost a new type of industrialization to accelerate high-quality development.

In Tai'an's Xintai city, there are 227 automobile and components companies and a national medium and heavy vehicle parts production base. The city introduced Tai'an's first new energy vehicle project – Geely's Farizon new energy commercial vehicle – in 2022.

Shandong RuiFu Lithium Industry Co, located in Tai'an's county-level city Feicheng, has also played a leading role in the industry, gathering 19 projects to form a complete industrial chain that integrates lithium concentrate processing, positive and negative electrode materials, battery assembly, and battery recycling.

As a result, Feicheng city's production costs of many lithium series products have been significantly reduced and the total output value of lithium electricity has exceeded 10 billion yuan ($1.44 billion), said Zhang Li, Party secretary of Feicheng.

In addition, as a cultural and tourism city, Tai'an is focusing on green and low-carbon energy as it begins to develop its new type of industrialization. 

Taishan Gypsum Co, located in Daiyue district, has developed new technologies and crafts to help cut costs and 20 percent of carbon emissions in its production process.

With a growing number of companies actively promoting intelligent, digital, green transformation and upgrading in the city, Tai'an has significantly improved its economic development and ecological environment.
