Niu Yuye, an inheritor of the Yu's Hongye qipao-making technique, which is a Shandong provincial-level intangible cultural heritage item, has invented a new luxiu product – marriage certificates embroidered with gold wire twisted thread patterns.
Luxiu, or Shandong embroidery, dates back to the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476 BC) and is one of the eight renowned forms of embroidery in China.
The Yu's Hongye qipao-making technique is a Tai'an custom that dates back more than a century.
