Tai'an makes progress in industrialization in Jan-Sept
The added value of industries above designated size in Tai'an, Shandong province, increased by 9.1 percent year-on-year in the first three quarters of this year, which was 0.5 percentage points faster than the growth rate of the first half of this year.
Twenty-two out of 37 industries in Tai'an realized increases in the first three quarters. Of which, 12 industries including computers, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing, coal mining and washing, food manufacturing, electricity, heat production and supply, and textiles and apparel posted a growth rate of more than 20 percent.
Among a total of 1,241 industrial companies in Tai'an, 681 companies realized an increase in output value in the first nine months.
Statistics showed that the leading industries had led the improvement of the city's economy in the first three quarters. For example, the added value of computer, communication and other electronic equipment manufacturing industries increased 33.3 percent year-on-year, the added value of food manufacturing soared 44.8 percent year-on-year, and the added value of textiles and apparel surged 71.7 percent year-on-year during the same period.
Statistics also showed that Tai'an had been optimizing its industrial structure. For example, the added value of the high-tech manufacturing soared 46.3 percent year-on-year in the first three quarters, firmly supporting the transformation and upgrading of the city's industrial economy.
