Taishan district in Tai'an, Shandong province, has been bolstering its efforts to optimize its industrial structure and achieve high-quality development during the past decade.

The district's gross domestic product (GDP) reached 49.99 billion yuan ($6.97 billion) and its public budget revenue reached 3.46 billion yuan in 2021.

Taishan district is the only district in Shandong province that has been awarded the titles of "national modern agriculture industrial park" and "national agricultural science and technology park".

In addition, Taishan district has been beefing up its efforts to deepen reform and opening-up. The number of various types of market entities has exceeded 120,000, which surged 370.3 percent compared to that in 2012.

The district is home to the national advanced printing and dyeing technology innovation center, which is the first and only one in the industry nationwide.

Over the past decade, Taishan district also took action to improve people's livelihood.

The per capital disposable income of urban and rural residents in 2021 increased 22,333 yuan and 11,203 yuan, respectively, from that in 2012.

Taishan district has also showed its vitality as a culture and tourism city over the past 10 years, and for example, has been included in "the first batch of Shandong province's all-round tourism demonstration zones".
