According to statistics, A-level scenic spots, new tourism scenic spots, and rural tourism areas in Tai'an, Shandong province received a total of 625,900 tourists during the National Day holiday, which ran from Oct 1 to 7, and raked in a total of 23.78 million yuan ($3.34 million) in operational revenue.

Short-distance trips and touring around surrounding areas were the preferred methods of traveling during this year's seven-day holiday.

The tourist projects integrated cultural elements such as the first intangible cultural heritage handicraft festival that kicked off in Pangoo, and the Mount Tai cultural creative fine products exhibition at the Mount Tai scenic area, which entertained tourists with traditional Chinese culture elements.

Various scenic spots and event venues promoted various special events to attract tourists with different interests. For example, Dongping Lake scenic area held a cultural festival for hundreds of different types of arts, and the municipal library held a recommendation exhibition for excellent books.
